Greek Festival 希臘節慶This weekend we got invited to one of our Taiko friend Michiko's house after performance along with other Taiko people. I took a lot of pictures, but for some reason they all disappeared from the memory card. So this week Ohio Diary is not going to be updated much. Anyway, beside of that, we also went to the Greek festival in Cleveland Heights. It is sponsored by the Greek Orthodocx church. I kind of felt a little bit weird going there because I am not Greek. But hey, it is kind of a church event and Greek food sounds good to me. We went directly into the church cafeteria to look for food since it is around lunch time. There are vendors outside selling food as well, but we are in here, might as well eat here. 這個週末我們所屬的太鼓團體有表演 表演完其中一個團員邀請大家去她家玩 我照了好多照片 但是不知道為什麼所有照片都在記憶卡找不到了所以這個禮拜俄亥俄州日記沒辦法再次更新不過這個禮拜我們有去一個希臘教堂舉辦的希臘節慶 我起先覺得有點奇怪 因為我們又不是希臘人 但是這算是教堂活動而且我很想嘗嘗希臘菜我們一到那就直衝教堂的食堂找東西吃 外面也有賣東西 但是已經走進來了就在這吃吧I feel like I am in the school's cafeteria.我覺得好像回到學校食堂的感覺This is what I ordered. It is deep fried chicken which I don't know what's outside of the chicken and the sauce is kind of like lemon sauce. But it does not taste like Greek food because I had pretzel chicken before and it tastes kind of like that. The egg roll looking thing has spinach and cheese in it. 這是我點的菜 炸雞肉外面不知道裹什麼 沾汁有點酸甜 其實好像也不像希臘菜 因為吃起來很像美式的脆餅雞 那個像春捲的東西是炸麵粉裹菠菜起司Xiao-pang got lamb with tomato based sauce which he said it was really good. For me, it tastes like lamb...But it definitely more like Greek food. 小胖點了羊肉酌蕃茄為主煮成的醬汁 小胖覺得很好吃 對我來說有一點羊腥味 但是這道比較像希臘菜They also sell Greek pastries. The lady who is selling the pastries introduced every one to us. I found that they use a lot of honey in their pastries. Everything looks so good. We got a cinnamon peanut cookie and crispy almond roll. Both are dipped in honey which make it so good. 他們還有賣各式各樣的希臘甜點 賣甜點的大嬸很熱心的介紹了每一樣甜點 我發現希臘甜點用很多的蜂蜜為主 每一樣看起來都很好吃 我們點了一個肉桂花生餅乾還有一個杏仁酥 兩種甜點都沾了蜂蜜所以更是好吃Xiao-pang and the Greek dancers. 小胖和希臘舞者The church also has a small market going on. 教堂裡還辦了一個小型賣場 They also have a flea market going on, selling furniture, jewlries...etc.他們還有跳蚤市場 賣家俱還有一些雜七雜八的東西We found that the church is really big as we walk around.我們發現這個教堂還真大I found this vase which is really pretty, but it is too bad that it costs 28 dollars. 我發現了一個很別緻的花瓶 可惜要28塊美金 太貴了Xiao-pang found a treasure. He said that he had one of the TVs that you have to wind it in order to display pictures. 小胖發現寶了 他說他以前也有那個要轉動才能發電的電視This thing is creepy.這個東西真的很詭異I realized that Greek culture has this eye looking symbol. It is supposed to protect you from evil. 看到這個圖案 我才想到希臘文化裡這個像眼睛一樣的東西是可以避邪的After we are done inside, we walked around outside. 逛完裡面逛外面 外面也有賣吃的I saw that they have fried calamari which we both love. So although we are full, we still got it.我看到他們有在賣炸小捲 我跟小胖都很愛吃 所以雖然飽了 也要買來嚐嚐After we ate, how could we not have ice cream? MCDonald's vanilla ice cream costs only a dollar but tastes so good. It is my favorite this summer.吃飽後怎麼可以不吃冰呢 麥當勞的香草冰淇淋只要一元美金 而且又好吃 是我這個夏天的最愛After dinner we decided to walk around the headland beach. We haven't even gone to the beach this summer.吃飽晚餐後我們到海灘走走 這個夏天我們都還沒來海邊玩呢小胖在撿要放到荔枝樹裡的石頭.
